The Process Of Your Radiology Report

Patient's physician requests a radiology examination

Your physician needed diagnostic imaging results to assess your health concerns. His/her staff made an appointment for you at our imaging center or one of our hospital affiliates. 

At the imaging center / Hospital radiology department

You went to the imaging center or Hospital Outpatient Department where your exam was performed. The technologist performed the imaging requested by your referring physician. The type of imaging requested could be an X-ray, CT-scan, Mammogram, MRI or Ultrasound.

Report sent to your doctor

We send claim to the patient's insurance

After submitting the report to your doctor, Sol Radiology sends a bill for our professional services to your insurance company. If you had services in the Hospital Outpatient Department, the hospital will bill your insurance for their part of your care and we will bill for the Radiologist’s services related to performing your procedure and reading your imaging study.

We send bill to patient

We sent you a bill for the imaging services we provided for any balance due, deductible or co-pay. Again, this is a separate bill from the hospital/clinic. You can pay your bill online using our seamless patient portal.

What is CMI ?

California Managed Imaging Medical Group (CMI) provides professional radiology services at hospitals and outpatient radiology facilities along the California Central Coast from Camarillo to Templeton. Our physicians are trained in general, sub-specialty, and interventional radiology. All of our radiologists are licensed by the State of California to practice medicine as physicians and surgeons. In addition, each of our doctors has completed a post-graduate program of special training in the field of Radiology and has passed an examination resulting in certification in the specialty of Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology.

Why Did I Receive A Text Message?

The text message from CMI is regarding an action needed on your account. For example, a balance might be remaining for the physician services provided during your recent visit.

Why Am I Receiving This Bill?

You are receiving this bill for the services provided by the radiologist. This charge is separate from the hospital bill.

Why Do I Receive Separate Bills From The Hospital And The Physician?

Every hospital visit involves different physician specialists and hospital resources. A physician specialist is typically required to submit their billing separate from the hospital. For example, if you came to the emergency room and had an x-ray and laboratory tests, you may receive a bill from the emergency room physician for their professional services, but also, a bill from the radiologist for interpreting any x-rays.

How Can I Request A Copy Of My Statement?

In order to receive a copy of your statement, please log into the Patient Portal, our patient portal, below and click on “Download Statement”. Instructions will be provided on the multiple ways you can receive your statement there.

 

Can I Add Or Change My Insurance?

Yes, you can log into the Patient Portal to modify or add multiple insurance policies to your account. CMI will submit the bill to your insurance carrier with the information we have on file first. 

Why Did My Insurance Pay Only A Part Of My Bill?

Most insurance plans require that you pay a co-payment, coinsurance or deductible for your health care expenses. Please contact your insurance company for further questions about your health care coverage. You may also log into our Patient Portal to ensure that we have your most current and accurate insurance information.

How Can I Pay My Bill Or Set Up A Payment Plan?

If you log into the Patient Portal below with your information, you can find the option to pay your bill or set up a payment plan and make an initial payment. PatientFolio accepts all major credit cards.
